The Australian government has introduced a new processing priority framework for several skilled, employer-sponsored, and regional migration visas.
The revised order covers applications for the Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186), Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482), Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189), Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190), Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491), and Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional visa (subclass 494), among others.
However, the new policy removes the previous priority given to regional positions and nominations submitted by accredited sponsors.
The government has also updated processing priorities for the Family Migration and National Innovation visa programs.
For the National Innovation visa, priority will continue to be given to globally recognized experts, government-nominated applicants, and individuals with exceptional achievements in Tier 1 sectors.
