Hawaiʻi Island police have arrested a Mountain View man on suspicion of attempted murder after an early morning shooting on Tuesday left a Hilo man with life-threatening injuries. When they arrived, they found a 53-year-old Hilo man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside a residence. Investigators identified 35-year-old Kawika Ah Nee as the suspect. At about 4:27 a.m., officers located Ah Nee on foot on Kauaʻi Street and took him into custody without incident. Authorities stated that they secured a residence on Kauaʻi Street pending the issuance of a search warrant as part of the ongoing investigation.
