Palmerston North Protest Supports Auckland Action Against Data-Centre Expansion5 August 2026Palmerston North residents will protest outside the Palmerston North City Council building at 4 pm on Wednesday 12 August, supporting the data-centre protest being held in Auckland.
The protest is being held at the Council building because Palmerston North City Council is responsible for local planning, infrastructure, land-use and servicing decisions.
It is also a joint owner, with Manawatū District Council, of the Central Economic Development Agency, CEDA.
Its promotional material connects data-centre investment with Te Utanganui, renewable electricity, transmission infrastructure, fibre connectivity, transport networks and major industrial land.
