Mark Douglas Lowe, 47, conned between £400 and £3,400 from each of 20 victims around the country by taking upfront payments for parts he never supplied, according to Dorset Council. Lowe, of Bushes Farm Campsite, near Blandford, Dorset, was contacted by a woman in her sixties from Wincanton after seeing his mobile mechanic services advertised online. He arranged to go to her home to repair the vehicle and demanded £500 in cash to purchase the necessary parts, which were never supplied to her. “You customers trusted you and you simply took their money causing sleepless nights and significant emotional impact.” Martin Thursby, from Dorset Council's trading standards, said: “It was clear the judge recognised the harm done by Lowe when he imposed a sentence of immediate imprisonment.”
