Experienced public servant Kate Pope has been appointed as acting Inspector-General of Aged Care.
As Inspector-General she will be responsible for monitoring Australia’s aged care system and making recommendations to help strengthen the quality of care provided to older Australians.
Ms Pope started in the role on 1 August and will act in the role until the appointment of a permanent Inspector-General.
“The Inspector-General has an important function in working co-operatively with the government to advance systemic improvements to Australia’s aged care system,” he said.
