President Ali launches ‘model communities’ consultations in Region Three(Kaieteur News) – President Dr. Irfaan Ali on Tuesday launched a series of community consultations in Region Three as the government rolled out a pilot programme aimed at transforming villages into safer, more connected and economically vibrant communities. “We are launching a programme that will eventually touch every single village in our country,” President Ali told residents. Ali explained that while every community would benefit from improved infrastructure, public services and economic opportunities, no single blueprint would be imposed. He noted that nearly three-quarters of Guyanese live in villages, making community development central to the country’s long-term growth. The president stressed that infrastructure alone would not build successful communities, saying development must also strengthen family values, civic responsibility and respect for others.
