It’s parade season in Luna County — and none come greater than the Tournament of Ducks Parade, set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, in Deming. The Great American Duck Race is celebrating its 47th anniversary this year, and it promises to be the top tourist event of the season. The GADR Committee is seeking entries for the parade, which will roll west on the Cedar Street Extension and caravan east on Pine Street. The parade route will turn south onto Gold Avenue and finish at the Emmett Shockley Administration Building on Cody Road. Keep in mind that the parade has a theme each year.
