The county is partnering with Code 3 to install the new radio tower and state-of-theart communications equipment within the dispatch center.
This includes new radios, a digital control station, dispatch consoles and other essential technology that will strengthen emergency communications throughout the region.
The radio tower and communications equipment represent an investment of $621,805.74 funded through the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration.
“Luna County appreciates the continued support of its citizens as this important project moves toward completion, and looks forward to the enhanced emergency response capabilities the new facility will provide,” said Luna County Deputy Manager Pablo Montoya.
County leaders said they have outgrown the current Central Dispatch, housed in the former Luna County Jail next to the historic Luna County Courthouse.
