Yadgir: Three workers were killed, and two others sustained injuries after a suspected sulphur dioxide gas leak at a pharmaceutical chemical factory in the Kadechur Industrial Area in Yadgir district in the early hours of Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Tukaram Pandve and Superintendent of Police Pruthvik Shankar rushed to the factory soon after the incident and reviewed the situation.
Preliminary findings indicate that sulphur dioxide released during the manufacturing process escaped after a pipeline developed a leak.
"There is no sulphur dioxide leakage now.
Forensic experts will examine the unit to ascertain the exact cause of the leak and identify any safety lapses.
