A man had to be talked down from the top of a crane in Dublin yesterday evening as part of the north inner city came to a standstill. Gardaí were called to the scene on Talbot street after concerns for a man who had climbed a crane and was refusing to come down. They activated their emergency response and an on-scene commander was appointed while garda negotiators, along with several other garda units, were brought in. Following successful negotiations, the man was safely brought to the ground before being arrested. He was detained at a Garda Station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.
