Wall Street likes WHR– at least for the day

What’s Happening – Moody on the Market
Comments this morning from Whirlpool CEO Marc Bitzer and his executive team seem to have struck at least a minor chord with investors.
WHR stock closed UP almost 14% at $44.62 in Tuesday trading.
Whirlpool shares have been bouncing arouind at or under $40 in recent weeks after several management moves that were viewed negatively by many investors.
On the other hand, Whirlpool’s flirting with historic lows had likely attracted some ‘bottom fishing’ speculattive buyers, some of whom probably cashed in today.
In any event, today was a brighter day on Wall Street for the appliance giant.
