A mystery Good Samaritan is being hailed a hero after repeatedly running into a smoke-filled home to rescue five young children trapped inside as flames tore through the property. As the family screamed for help, an 80-year-old neighbour rushed over after hearing the children crying out. Paramedics treated the five young children at the scene before they were rushed to Stanthorpe Hospital. The woman was treated for an arm injury and smoke inhalation, and the 80-year-old man was also treated for smoke inhalation. The passer-by, believed to be a man in his 40s and wearing a white hat, left before emergency services arrived.
