An investigation has been launched over a near-miss on the tarmac at a major Australian airport.
“Air traffic control (ATC) cleared the 737 on runway 25 to cross runway 34L while the DHC-8 was in the landing roll on runway 34L,” the ASTB said.
“Both Qantas aircraft were cleared to proceed following instructions from air traffic control and we will support the ATSB in the investigation,” a spokesperson said.
The ATSB is investigating a close call involving Qantas planes at Sydney Airport.
In March a passenger jet slammed into a fire truck crossing the runway at New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
