The original PlayStation was home to some of the greatest horror games ever made, but not every hit on the platform has aged as well as the original Resident Evil or Silent Hill. They might still be worth playing in the long run, but until you're more accustomed to the rougher points of classic horror games, it's better to stick to the tried-and-true classics. The early Resident Evil games were always pushing forward and taking risks, which easily prevents any of them from aging out of relevance. While it isn't much of a horror game, its slow pace and menial gameplay can actually contribute to a compelling, lonely atmosphere. Calling this a horror game at all might be overly generous, as the problems with its game design inspire more fear than anything within the game itself.
