Apple To Bring iPhone-Windows Clipboard Sharing To EU Users Under Microsoft's DMA Request

Apple confirmed plans to let iPhone users copy content and paste it directly onto Windows PCs in the European Union, following an interoperability request Microsoft filed under the bloc's Digital Markets Act earlier this year.
Microsoft submitted the request, formally logged as FB22329535, on March 25, arguing that cross-device copy and paste has become a baseline productivity feature users expect between their primary devices.
Apple reviewed the request and approved it on June 26, according to an update posted to the company's EU interoperability requests page.
Microsoft has separately requested real-time photo library synchronization access from Apple through the same interoperability process, a request that remains under review.
Continued monitoring of how EU regulators respond to Apple's pace on DMA-driven interoperability work is expected to remain a relevant storyline as additional third-party requests move through the pipeline.
