Man detained after video of assault on woman at Ghaziabad mall goes viralNew Delhi: Police have detained a man after a video purportedly showing him assaulting a woman inside a mall in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district went viral on social media, officials said on Wednesday. According to the Ghaziabad Police, the incident took place at Jaipuria Mall in the Indirapuram area. The video, which surfaced on social media on Tuesday evening, showed a man and a woman involved in a heated altercation, during which the man allegedly assaulted the woman. During the inquiry, police confirmed that the incident had occurred at Jaipuria Mall and found that the man and the woman were already acquainted with each other. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Indirapuram, Suryabali Maurya said police acted promptly after taking cognisance of the viral video circulating on social media.
