Te Tai Tonga MP Tākuta Ferris, has welcomed the Government’s decision to select Te Tai o Poutini as one of the first regions to help design a new model of community-led social service delivery. “I congratulate Te Tai o Poutini and the West Coast Partnership on its successful application. The West Coast Partnership brings together Te Tauraki, Pōkeka Poutini Ngāi Tahu, West Coast Community Trust, Homebuilders West Coast, Ngāti Waewae, Makaawhio, and the Buller, Grey and Westland district councils around a shared vision for the people of the West Coast. Across Te Tai Tonga, iwi and community organisations have been delivering for whānau for generations. “The Government should build on this success and expand it across Te Tai Tonga and Aotearoa.
