TROOPS from the 10th Infantry Division provided security support to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) operation that led to the arrest of five Chinese nationals in Trento, Agusan del Sur, military officials reported Tuesday, Aug. 4. The military reported that the five foreign nationals were apprehended for alleged violations of Philippine immigration laws involving fraud, misrepresentation, and other regulatory offenses. Major General Alvin Luzon, commander of the 10th Infantry Division, highlighted the role of multi-agency coordination in safeguarding national security and maintaining local public order. “The Philippine Army remains steadfast in supporting legitimate law enforcement operations that protect our national security and uphold the rule of law,” Luzon said in a statement. “This successful inter-agency effort demonstrates the government’s unified commitment to ensuring that all foreign nationals in the country comply with Philippine laws.”
