Fire crews tackled a large, rapidly spreading woodland blaze on Tuesday evening, 4 August, after broken power lines ignited surrounding trees and undergrowth. Photo: Bridgnorth Fire StationFirefighters were called to the scene as the fire quickly took hold, sweeping across an area measuring approximately 100 metres by 50 metres and threatening local hedgerows. Crews initially faced difficulty reaching the seat of the fire due to difficult access and restricted terrain. - Advertisement -Reinforcements were drafted in from Telford Central and Newport Fire Stations, with additional ISU teams working to establish a perimeter and prevent further spread across the landscape. Firefighters remained at the scene into the evening to dampen down the area and cool remaining hot spots to prevent reignition.
