•••Last month, the U.S. House voted 308 to 117 to make daylight saving time permanent. This bill locks the whole country onto daylight saving time, the summer setting, all year long. Permanent daylight saving time shoves the clock an hour ahead of the sun and asks our biology to catch up. Permanent daylight saving time is even more problematic in the northwest corner of Minnesota. Forcing Minnesota into permanent daylight saving time would, quite literally, return education to the dark ages.
