MUMBAI: In order to avoid delays in electricity bill payments on its part, the Maharashtra Government on Tuesday approved the implementation of a unified composite electricity billing system of the BEST undertaking for all state government offices and government offices within the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) limits.
Government offices will also benefit from the 'Go Green' initiative, which offers rebates on digital billing, along with concessions available for prepaid electricity connections," the official said.
These consumers will benefit from the new composite billing system.
Maharashtra Minister of State Ashish Jaiswal played a key role in bringing landless labourers under the Ex-Gratia scheme.
Mr Jaiswal told this newspaper that it is the first time landless labourers will be provided security cover.
