INDIA bloc parties staged a walkout from the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday during the debate on The Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026, as Parliament continued to witness disruptions over Opposition protests against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Earlier, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm and the Rajya Sabha till 12 noon amid sloganeering. The Lok Sabha was later adjourned for the day after passing the Bankers' Books Evidence Bill, 2026, while the Rajya Sabha approved The Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026. Despite the disruptions, the Lok Sabha passed the Bankers' Books Evidence Bill, 2026, recognising digital bank records as admissible evidence in courts. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also moved the Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
