“[The SAVE America Act] is based on a false flag,” Terry Ford said while quietly holding a sign near the state capital.
In March, President Trump told Republican lawmakers that passing the SAVE America Act would “guarantee the midterm elections.”
On July 22, the House passed a spending package that included a $10 billion allocation for the SAVE America Act.
However, after the bill was packaged with the SAVE America Act, Democratic lawmakers unanimously voted against it.
Sen. Raphael Warnock, of Georgia, spoke on the Senate floor on July 29, calling the SAVE America Act a voter suppression act that will disenfranchise women.
