WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Fayette County commissioners voted May 26 to take out a three-year loan to buy a $354,500 landfill compactor, financing most of the cost through Kansas State Bank as the county works through a broader landfill expansion project. Commissioners authorized Sanitary Engineer Jason Little to sign a finance loan purchase agreement for a 2004 Caterpillar Model 836G landfill compactor, purchased through Best Equipment Inc. Including interest, the total cost comes to $399,440.84, according to the county. Commissioners also approved a Title XX county profile setting $567,674 in state funding for the Fayette County Department of Job and Family Services to provide services such as case management, foster care, protective services and home-delivered meals between Oct. 1, 2026, and Sept. 30, 2027.
