A nine-month-old infant was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a Pune hospital after his aunt allegedly poured super glue into his mouth following a dispute with her brother, police said. According to police, the incident occurred amid an ongoing family dispute involving members of a joint family. The infant’s father, Altaf Nadeem Sheikh (39), alleged that his sister Saniya Sheikh used Fevikwik, a cyanoacrylate-based adhesive commonly known as super glue, on the child after an argument, India Today reported. Police said that following one such argument, Saniya Sheikh allegedly carried out the act involving the infant. The complainant further alleged that when the child’s mother confronted Saniya Sheikh about the incident, she was allegedly threatened with consequences if she revealed what had happened.
