Fife villagers have launched a “David and Goliath battle” against plans for a huge electricity substation on their doorsteps. Chosen substation site ‘beggars belief’Jonathan is one of several Guardbridge residents to submit an official objection to the planning application. SP Energy Networks plans to lease the selected site from St Andrews University, which operates its Eden Campus in Guardbridge. “It’s like a David and Goliath battle with big energy giants on one side and ordinary people on the other.” SP Energy Networks says the substation plans will benefit people across north east Fife, including Guardbridge, as demand for electricity increases.
