According to Yonhap News, the combined Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8 attracted 1.44 million pre-orders in South Korea during a six-day pre-order period, surpassing the long-standing record of 1.38 million set by the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ in 2019. Previous generations experienced fluctuating demand, with the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 reaching a then-record 1.02 million pre-orders before the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 slipped to 910,000 reservations. Demand recovered with last year’s Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, which attracted 1.04 million pre-orders, but the new Galaxy Z8 family has comfortably eclipsed that figure. Samsung is believed to have benefited from strong interest in the redesigned Galaxy Z Fold8, which introduces a wider folding display than previous generations. The model reportedly accounted for around 70 per cent of all Galaxy Z8 series pre-orders in South Korea.
