The Court of Appeal reduced his minimum sentence to 60 per cent in custody rather than the standard 70 per cent in August 2025, prompting Queensland's attorney-general to launch an appeal. Queensland Attorney-General Deb Frecklington's appeal against the reduced minimum was upheld.
