— The City of Casper will be receiving financial support in modernizing local athletic facilities and advancing environmental restoration efforts, after the City Council on Tuesday accepted a pair of grants totaling roughly $210,000. The larger of the two awards is a $200,000 grant from the United States Tennis Association dedicated to the Washington Park tennis courts. This funding supports the reconstruction and expansion of the park’s tennis facilities. The project has resulted in six new post-tension concrete tennis courts. A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Washington Park courts is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 6.
