Staff reportThe field is set for the eight regionals which will decide the lineup for the 99th American Legion World Series. Regional play runs from Aug. 5-9. The ALWS will take place Aug. 13-18 at Veterans Field at Keeter Stadium in Shelby. Shrewsbury/Worcester, Mass., will host Regions 1 and 2, while Cherryville/Gastonia will host Regions 3 and 4. The four eight-team regionals are scheduled to begin play Aug. 5, while the four six-team regionals will begin play Aug. 6.
