–The Algona City Council awarded a contract for the 2026 Manhole Repair Improvement project to a local company during their meeting Monday evening. City Administrator Jacob Tjaden outlined the project during a public hearing held prior to awarding the contract. The council voted to approve the low bid and awarded the contract to Reding’s Gravel and Excavating. Kevin Graves is an Engineer with WHKS and is working with the city on the project, and he says the work will take place this fall. Reding’s bid of $745,158 came in nearly $33,000 under the engineer’s estimated costs for the project.
