Vicksburg Police are investigating two separate weekend incidents, including a stabbing that left a woman injured and an attempted armed robbery at a convenience store. Police are investigating a stabbing reported around 7:30 p.m. Saturday after officers responded to Merit Health River Region. Medical personnel determined she also sustained a small puncture to one lung, but the injury was not believed to be life-threatening. Police said investigators have obtained statements from those involved and are working to determine the circumstances leading to the stabbing. In a separate incident, officers responded around 11 p.m. Friday to an attempted armed robbery at Mission Mart, 1020 Mission 66.
