I would say the poetry of my life really begins at my grandmother’s voice. Button Poetry at the time was a really large poetry platform. The film came about through the power of social media. Then she saw my work, my poetry, and the poem that we’re using in the film. I have a debut poetry collection called “Hum,” which is releasing in October, and this poem was from that collection.
