Billy Horschel was optimistic as ever in January to start his 16th year on the PGA Tour. 107 in the FedEx Cup in a year when his full exempt status is set to expire. At least he is secure for two more years from winning the PGA Championship at Oak Hill in 2023. Four weeks remain before the FedEx Cup is decided, and perhaps it will all make sense in the end. Horschel would need at least a two-way tie for second to have a mathematical chance of making it to the FedEx Cup playoffs.
