(ABC 6 News) — The iconic corn cob tower stands as a reminder of where the former Seneca Foods plant in Rochester belonged, but now, the site is facing continued uncertainty after the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners hit pause on another development plan. Late last year, a new idea came forward to create a 2000-seat performing arts center. “A performing arts center such as this one meets the sort of high culture fine arts needs that Rochester has some level of but is a bit lacking in,” said Jesse O’Driscoll of Rochester. We need to have a site secured and built,” said Ken Brown, a member of the SPARK Board. Commissioners asked SPARK and SEMPAC to see whether their plans could work together, but they couldn’t both fit on the site as proposed.
