(ABC 6 News) — While the Rochester Ronald McDonald House has grown over the years, its kitchen hasn’t, but that will change soon. The organization has received a $1.5 million leadership gift from the Harper Family Foundation to support the construction of a new commercial kitchen. Originally designed to support a much smaller house, the current kitchen no longer has the capacity to meet today’s demand. Since 2019, the house has nearly doubled in size, expanding from 42 guest rooms to 72. The new commercial kitchen will strengthen daily meal service and increase food storage.
