Kolkata, Aug 4: TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday lashed out at the BJP for “hurling insults to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and his legacy”, urging people to come together and register protests against such statements. “I was aghast at the way BJP leaders spoke about Netaji, one of the tallest heroes of our freedom struggle. I am deeply saddened and shocked at the way Netaji Subhas Bose is being insulted by those who neither understand politics nor India’s culture nor Bengal’s history. It’s an insult not only to Bengal but to the whole country,” Banerjee said during a Facebook Live session. She urged the people to come together and protest against the “insult” that is being meted out to Netaji, and stated that her party’s IT team will reach out to students, young people, and the digital community to register protest.
