Tennessee Valley Authority Officials Reveal Strong Third Quarter Earnings
[]
WHVO
The Tennessee Valley Authority reported stronger financial results through the first nine months of fiscal year 2026, driven by increased electricity demand and higher operating revenues.
This includes more than $10 billion in operating revenues on nearly 121.8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity sales for the period ending June 30.
Revenue increased about 3% compared to the same period last year, while electricity sales rose about 1%.
Higher operating revenues offset rising fuel and purchased power costs, which increased by $253 million because of higher natural gas prices and purchased power market costs.
TVA officials said the utility’s diverse energy portfolio, including nuclear, natural gas, coal, hydroelectric, renewable energy and storage technologies, helped maintain reliable service throughout the third quarter.
