STAR CITY, W.Va. — The town of Star City appears to be ready to begin construction on a streetscape project for one of their more heavily used roads. Thrasher Engineering Project Manager Jeff Gola confirmed with the Star City Council during their regular meeting on Tuesday that a bid contract will be ready for a council vote by the end of September. “We’re putting new sidewalks from the fire department down to Boyers Avenue on the right-hand side,” said Gola. Star City Mayor Sharon Doyle remains adamant that the nearly $1 million project will begin construction within the next few months, with funding secured through multiple avenues. “So the more we all work together to get this project moving forward, the sooner our residents and people driving through Star City will see the big improvement.”
