Four people have been arrested in connection to the shooting that took the lives of two people in North Arlington on Ridge Road last month, and two have been charged with first-degree murder, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. The arrests were the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the North Arlington Police Department. First responders rendered aid to both victims, later identified as Lockett, of North Arlington, and Aquino, of Newark, before transporting them by separate ambulances. Immediately following the incident, the North Arlington Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, at which time detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Special Investigations Squad responded to the scene and initiated a joint investigation with the North Arlington Police Department. Leibys Mercedes was identified as the shooter.
