ORIGINAL STORY: LANSING, Mich. -- Primary voting is underway, and residents in Michigan’s 39th Statehouse District have four candidates on the ballot. The seat is currently held by Republican Pauline Wendzel, elected in 2023. Running against her for the Republican nomination is Bill Sage. For the Democratic nomination, Zachary Shinabarger and Kerry Tapper both appear on the ballot. Zachary Shinabarger spoke with ABC57, saying his campaign has been focused on promoting affordability.
