The statistics showed that security units handled 609,959 incidents involving juveniles during the year, down 0.4 percent from 2024. Among juveniles pushed into crime, 41.6 percent were accused of assault, making it the most common alleged offense. Theft accounted for 14.7 percent, followed by drug-related offenses involving the use, sale or purchase of narcotics at 9.7 percent and threats at 5.1 percent. Of the 196,308 incidents involving juveniles classified as “pushed into crime,” 192,989 involved youngsters aged 12 to 17, equivalent to about 25.5 incidents per 1,000 children in that age group based on Turkey’s 2025 population. Although the number of juveniles involved in security unit cases declined slightly from the previous year, the figures remained well above 2021 levels.
