The luminaries that will decorate Bula's Antiques and Passthrough Park this weekend will remember those who have lost their lives to cancer and honor those who won their battles against it.
TIFTON — Volunteers of the American Cancer Society will host a memorial ceremony in honor of those who have battled cancer in Downtown Tifton this weekend.
Members of the organization’s Cancer Action Network will decorate and illuminate Main Street’s Bula’s Antiques and Passthrough Park Aug. 8 for Lights of Hope, an event meant to memorialize cancer survivors and those who have passed fighting it alike.
A cancer survivor himself, Turner remains heavily involved with the American Cancer Society and its subsidiary, traveling to the State Capitol each year to lobby for increased access to care and tobacco prevention in legislative policies.
He hopes the upcoming ceremony will raise awareness for the Cancer Action Network’s efforts.
