Siberian Blacksmith: Hammerbike’s Harley-Davidson WLA Flathead Bobber
[]
Bike EXIF
The foundation of this build carries immense historical weight, utilizing a 1942 Harley-Davidson WLA.
Fondly nicknamed ‘The Liberator,’ this rugged military machine was engineered specifically to U.S. Army specifications, prioritizing endurance over outright speed.
Powered by a 45-cubic-inch (739 cc) air-cooled, side-valve flathead V-twin engine producing a modest 25 horsepower.
Once the custom chassis geometry was finalized, Roman installed the refreshed 1942 Flathead powerplant.
The ergonomics provide a modern interpretation of the historic WLA riding position, utilizing low-rise bars mounted on a traditional springer fork.
