Macau and Fujian held the fifth Fujian-Macau Cooperation Conference in Fuzhou yesterday, with both sides pledging to expand cooperation in trade, finance, technology, culture, education and healthcare. According to a statement issued by the Government Information Bureau, Sam said Fujian and Macau share deep historical and cultural ties, and that cooperation has expanded since the mechanism was established in 2016. Zhou said Fujian and Macau have maintained close economic and people-to-people exchanges, adding that both sides should use existing cooperation platforms to strengthen openness, innovation and industrial collaboration. During the meeting, the two sides signed a series of agreements covering investment promotion, tourism cooperation, youth exchanges, cultural cooperation, healthcare and higher education. The agreements include initiatives between Macau and Fujian authorities on tourism, cultural exchanges, youth development, medical cooperation and university programs, aiming to further strengthen ties and promote mutual development.
