Last week, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) held a two-day advisory committee meeting concerning popular “gray market” peptides. The makeup of the advisory committee has recently sparked backlash, with several members having ties to the peptide industry. The decision comes contrary to FDA expert recommendations to disallow all seven compounds included in the nomination based on current scientific evidence. All six panel members associated with peptide therapies voted to either pass or abstained from voting for all compounds proposed.
