The Cape May Beach Patrol was crowned the overall champion of the 2026 Dutch Hoffman Lifeguard Championships, establishing them as this year's top team. The 2026 Dutch Hoffman Memorial Lifeguard Races kicked off on Friday, July 31, with Brigantine leading early standings. However, the Cape May Beach Patrol surged to the top and clinched the overall title after a dramatic finish in the Singles Row race, won by Mike Fitzpatrick of Cape May. This annual beach patrol competition among South Jersey Beach Patrols, featuring rescue boards, rowing, swimming, and running events, is sponsored by the Wildwood Beach Patrol to honor the memory of Captain Frank “Dutch” Hoffman. Grace Emig of Brigantine Beach Patrol defended her Women's Paddleboard title.
