((File photo by Advocate staff))Red Deer firefighters were called to a house fire on Aug. 3 in the Kentwood neighbourhood that caused significant damage to the home. Cole Starling, assistant deputy chief of Red Deer Emergency Services, said extensive damage to the roof left the single-family dwelling uninhabitable. At about 6:30 p.m., additional fire trucks were no longer required and were starting to be sent back to their stations. So far this year, Red Deer Emergency Services fire trucks responded to a total of 5,479 medical or fire calls.
