Its local subsidiary, Robinhood U.K. Ltd, was added to the Financial Conduct Authority’s register of cryptoasset firms effective 31 July 2026. Under the present regime, which has operated since 2020, registered entities can facilitate crypto services while complying with money-laundering controls. Robinhood U.K. Ltd is permitted to arrange cryptocurrency trades—essentially receiving customer orders and transmitting them to other parties for execution. Crypto assets generally fall outside the Financial Services Compensation Scheme and full Financial Ombudsman Service coverage in many cases. It enables progress toward crypto services ahead of tighter rules, while highlighting the careful, phased approach required under British oversight.
