Google, part of Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG), has introduced a significant enhancement to its popular digital payments platform in India by incorporating advanced artificial intelligence capabilities directly into the Google Pay application. The feature, known as Ask Google Pay, leverages Google’s Gemini models to create an interactive experience within the app. Activation requires explicit opt-in through the personalization settings within Google Pay, which remain disabled by default. All relevant data, including transaction details and any linked credit report information, stays confined to the Google Pay environment. In parallel with the AI integration, Google has broadened its credit offerings by partnering with SBI Card to introduce the Google Pay Flex SBI Card.
